Teacher Talk: Encouraging Language Development in Early Childhood Settings
About this Event
Join us in person to learn how to use everyday conversations, play and daily routines to promote the communication and social development of all children, including those with language delays and those who are second language learners. Educators learn how to: identify children’s conversational styles and the role teachers play in interactions, implement six steps to following the child’s lead, help children become better conversation partners by using appropriate questions, comments and turn-taking cues, and use five important steps to ensure that no child is left out of the interaction during group activities. Come ready to share, learn and connect with others pasionate about early childhood development!
This event is a 2- day series:
- Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026: 9am-3pm (breakfast & lunch included)
- Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026: 9am-11:30am (breakfast included)
Hours qualify for ELC Stipend
Each participant should register once - refunds will not be given for holding space for other attendees as space is limited.
