The Art of Belonging: Building Safe and Connected Classrooms
About this Event

Join educators from across San Mateo County for the 2026 San Mateo County Creates Arts Education Conference, a full day of inspiration, hands-on learning, and practical strategies designed to support all learners through the arts. This year’s theme, The Art of Belonging: Building Safe and Connected Classrooms, centers the role of creativity in fostering student well-being, inclusion, expression, and meaningful connection in a rapidly changing world.

Participants will choose from interactive workshops across four strands: Creativity and Well-Being, Healing and Expression, From Classroom to Community, and Adapting to a Changing World. Whether you teach in an arts classroom or integrate the arts into other content areas, you’ll leave with concrete ideas to strengthen belonging, engagement, and learning in your school community.
