Speaker Description:
Wendy Kopp is the founder of Teach For America and co-founder and CEO of Teach For All, a global network of independent organizations working to expand educational opportunity. As a Princeton undergraduate, Kopp developed the idea for Teach For America in her senior thesis, proposing a national teaching corps that would recruit recent college graduates to teach in underserved communities. She launched the organization in 1989, helping establish a new model for recruiting young leaders into education.
In 2007, Kopp co-founded Teach For All to extend this approach internationally. Today, she leads a network spanning more than 60 countries, supporting locally led organizations that recruit and develop leaders committed to addressing educational inequity. Her work sits at the intersection of education, social entrepreneurship, leadership development, and global development.
