Step into the colourful, buzzing world of pollination! Join the Wellington Gardens Education Team for a day of hands-on fun exploring how plants and pollinators work together to keep nature thriving.
In the Discovery Garden:
Meet the Beekeepers – Learn how bees keep the hive running, why they’re super pollinators, and try on real beekeeper gear
Sensory Pollination Play Station – Transfer “pollen” between flowers in a fun sensory tray
Outdoor Pollinator Bingo Trail – Explore the gardens to spot different pollinators
Wind Pollination Station – Make mini fans and paper “pollen” to see how the wind carries pollen from one plant to another
In the Treehouse:
🍯 Pollination tastings – Sample honey, olive oil, and chocolate. Delicious local products made possible by pollinators.
Bring the whānau, follow the buzz, and leave with a new appreciation for the small creatures (and breezes!) that make big things happen.
