What makes a food distinctly Toronto? Part storytelling, part tasting experience, and part exhibition tour, Tastes of Toronto explores the histories, cultures, and communities behind the city’s flavours.
For this edition, culinary historian Shirley Lum will take us through the history of dim sum and Toronto’s Chinatowns, exploring how food, migration, and community have shaped the city’s culinary identity.
Along the way, enjoy a curated dim sum tasting from Wok Theory and discover the stories behind a food tradition that has become part of Toronto’s cultural landscape.

About the Exhibition
The T.O. You Don't Know invites visitors to look beyond familiar narratives and discover the hidden histories, overlooked voices, and unexpected stories that have shaped Toronto. Through photographs, artifacts, maps, and multimedia experiences, the exhibition reveals a city that is more complex, surprising, and diverse than many people realize.
