Taste the best of Uruguay: Top 10 Uruguay with Amanda Barnes MW

South American wine expert Amanda Barnes MW will launch her inaugural Top 10 Uruguay report with a special trade masterclass and walkaround tasting in London on Thursday 3 September.

UK wine professionals and media are invited to attend the masterclass, where Barnes will present her selection of the Top 10 Wines of Uruguay and explore the trends, regions and producers shaping the country’s contemporary wine scene.

Alongside the Top 10 Uruguayan Wines Barnes believes every wine lover, sommelier and buyer should know, the walkaround tasting will feature two additional selections (and a total of 30 Uruguayan wines to taste):

• Top 10 Value Wines, priced below £20 or US$25
• Top 10 Emerging Wines, celebrating new regions, producers and wine styles

Drawing on more than 15 years of writing about Uruguay’s wine regions, the digital report follows an extensive programme of tastings and vineyard visits undertaken across the country earlier this year. The report is the first in a new series of annual country reports highlighting the most exciting wines, producers and developments across South America.
