About this Event

Our main speaker, Mark Williams, brings over 20 years’ experience in hearing rehabilitation, tinnitus management and audiology education. Mark is the Audiology Programme Lead at Middlesex University and works in independent clinical practice supporting people with hearing loss, tinnitus and sound sensitivity disorders. He is the primary author of the tinnitus chapter in the upcoming edition of Scott‑Brown’s Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and regularly publishes research on the neuroscience of subjective tinnitus.

Mark will cover:

  • Everyday ways to protect your hearing
  • How to recognise the early signs of hearing deterioration
  • What to do if you’re worried about your hearing
  • Support options, assessments and rehabilitation
  • Understanding tinnitus and sound sensitivity

You’ll also hear from Specsavers, who are sponsoring the event and providing an informative talk on hearing care and assessments.

Representatives from the Jewish Deaf Association and Barnet Council’s Sensory Team will be on hand to offer advice, resources and support.
