Block-Making Basics

• What is a block, and why is it important?
• How to accurately measure the body.
• Drafting a basic dress block (size 12).
• Creating a made-to-measure dress block using your own measurements.

From Block to Pattern

• Transforming a block into a pattern.
• Tracing patterns and refining with seam allowances and notches.
• Finalising patterns for future use.
• Adding annotations for professional working patterns.

Practical Examples and Techniques

• Explore real-world examples of working patterns to understand industry standards.
• If time permits: Create a toile to test the fit and refine your block. Please bring appropriate woven fabric for your toile.
