It seems like every day there is a new, horrifying headline about a high school teacher, PE coach, or school counselor getting caught in a child sex abuse scandal with one of their students. This is completely unacceptable and should give all of us pause when considering where we send our children for their education, and with whom they will spend their time. Thankfully, many are being exposed and punished, but it seems their punishment is not great enough. Erin Anderson, a senior journalist for Texas Scorecard, has been reporting on these cases tirelessly and we've invited her here today to share about these tragic stories. Thankfully there are new laws in place that are supposed to be protecting our children in schools, but the challenge we face is, as always, enforcement! Who is in charge of enforcing them, and how can we be sure that is happening? Join us to learn more about this subject, as well as what YOU can do to protect Texas schoolchildren.
