Join us for inspiring, hands-on workshops led by award-winning textile artist Divya Sharma!
Inspired by themes of identity, culture, and belonging, Divya's work incorporates storytelling and visual narratives through textiles.
Together, we'll explore how personal stories, memories, and experiences can be translated into colour, texture, and pattern.
What You'll Do
Textile Workshops
We will hold eight one-hour sessions over four afternoons in July (12:00-13:00 and 13:00-14:00 each day). You are welcome to join as many of these sessions as you would like.
Join textile artist Divya Sharma for a hands-on textile workshop. Each workshop may include techniques such as:
- Needle felting
- Appliqué work
- Bead work and slow stitching
- Cyanotype Printing (Weather Permitting!)
This workshop offers an accessible introduction to textile art in a supportive and creative environment. Suitable for beginners, all materials will be provided. As we will be using needles, these workshops are only suitable for those aged 10+, but if you have little ones, you can bring them along and we'll find alternative activities to keep them occupied!
These eight workshops have been designed as a connected creative journey, but each session also works as a standalone experience. You’re welcome to join just one or two workshops, or attend all eight!
