Join us for dance classes taught by the 2026 Queensboro Dance Festival choreographers at Modega Studio in Long Island City.

We invite you to try a new dance technique! Proficient dancers trained in a different technique are welcome to take class. Free to attend, professional open level.
2:00 - 3:00pm: Moves & Grooves Tap Dance with Cole Collective
This class will introduce both body percussion and tap dance concepts. Dancers will learn some fun moves while creating music with their whole bodies. You'll be a human music machine! Body percussion and tap dance have African roots, and began as a means to communicate and express.
About Cole Collective: Nicole Ohr is a Queens-based tap dancer/choreographer/dance educator. She danced for Undertoe Dance Project, and Les Femmes, and has perform at BB Kings, Queens Theatre, Symphony Space, and on the TODAY Show. Nicole is Artistic Director of Cole Collective; a Queens-based tap dance company, and is producer of Dance Astoria.
3:00 - 4:00pm: Learn the Language of Love - The Flamenco Fan (Abanico) Posture, Attitude, Air with Flamenco Latino
Learn the Language of Love as expressed by the flamenco fan; sitting, standing, and marking dance phrases "Por Guajiras," the iconic dance vehicle for expression of the feminine mystique, "Aire." Learn to use facial expression, floreo (wrist movement), poses, opening & shutting fan with a percussive snap, play peek-a-boo, learn to flirt, signal availability, invite, ignite, spurn!
About Flamenco Latino: Aurora Reyes is a respected flamenco dancer, choreographer, and teacher in the Flamenco communities of Spain and New York. She is of Spanish descent, which inspired her inquiry into flamenco. Aurora’s collaboration with composer Basilio Georges produced Flamenco Latino, a NY-based Flamenco dance company, fusing Flamenco and Afro-Caribbean traditions.
