Discover the colors of the Rockaways through native plants and coastal landscapes. The workshop will begin with a guided walk through the Arverne Nature Preserve led by NYC Parks, where participants will learn about local plant species, ethical foraging practices, and the history of natural dyes and pigments. Back at the Valé EcoLab, participants will experiment with painting on paper using a selection of natural pigments and dyes while exploring color, texture, and mark making inspired by the surrounding environment.
Limited to 12 participants (Ages 5+ with adult supervision or 12+ independently).
