We are excited to have Tania Joy back on the patio! She'll be joining us Live on the Patio - Sunday August 25, 2024. Music starts at 2pm and Tania will be playing two 45 minutes sets. As always, kids and dogs are welcome!Folk-roots musician Tania Joy has been using the last few years to hone her songwriting, finally following up her 2013 EP, I’ll Be Around, with the release of her EP I Will Stand, produced by 2022 Juno Award winner Hill Kourkoutis.
In 2020, Tania found herself taking on a more complex narrative as the world around her shifted, bringing increased and global attention to Black Lives Matter. With mentorship from Hillside’s Girl with Guitars program, Tania wrote her first protest song, “Planks and Marietta,” which was released on Bandcamp during Black History month with all proceeds from downloads being directed to Black Lives Matter. I Will Stand was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2022 Oshawa Music Awards and Tania won Songwriter of the Year at the 2021 OMA's.
Tania is also the co-founder and Executive Director of Uxbridge’s Springtide Festival.
