Tango Podesta presents an amazing Primaro mini weekender with international Maestro Pablo Nievas and Florencia Fraschina on 2nd & 3rd May 2025. This is along with mix of indulging music from 3 wonderful dJs and 3 additional coaches for you to be absorbed in a mix workshops and dances/milonga.
Pablo and Florencia are world class Argentine Tango coaches and dancers will be joining Tango Podesta between Stoke-on-Trent and Crew middle England for an amazing Primero mini Bank Holiday weekend. These world-renowned tango maestros are a must to experience with their outstanding proven workshops for you to take away a piece of their experience and technics. From early childhood Pablo carried on his family tradition sharing the love of dance whilst Florencia studied the culture of the tango dance which became a fascination.
We have our musical genius Ali Pickard on the deck touching our tango nuevo, theatrical and modern emotions on Friday. Then on Saturday we have Bruce Cannon with decades of tango music and coaching experience which stretched from as far as Australia will be relishing us with the very best mix of traditional music. In addition, on Saturday evening there will be a second dance room with the glorious Hannah Cooper who will be putting us in bliss with deep modern playful sounds to dance on the spot tango and other smooth dance styles such as blues.
For the whole weekend which includes Friday show style workshop and evening dance, plus both Saturday’s workshops with Florencia and Pablo. A hot bap buffet meal and a bar drink voucher, the traditional ball along with a second indulging music dance room. That’s 3h 45min of workshops and 7h 15min of dancing for only £80. And there is more for an extra £8 as we have something rare! We welcome Matthew Podesta into our tango music world who is a senior acoustic consultant in his industry who studied sound and music technology along with elements of psychoacoustics. Matthew is going to lace us with music structure that will enable us to sync our dancing closer to the music sounds putting our dance into another realm. This is a must additional workshop.

Let’s add another additional workshop for just an extra £10. How would you like to add some tango poses into the dance during moments of pauses or at the end? Some subtle and some more dramatic. Well, if you do, we have someone special joining me to coach and give guidance to create some tango poses, so they feel and look amazing. We have the wonderful Sonia Pavlova who is an experienced show style tango dancer and a world class gymnastics dance coach and medal winner. Another one that will add even more creativity to your dance.
To enjoy and gain the learning experence from the workshops you will not be an absolute beginner to Argentine tango dancing.

7.15-8.30pm Florencia & Pablo pre-dance workshop on show tango putting drama into the dance.
8.30-12.00 Ali Pickard will be playing nuevo, theatrical and modern music that will express emotion and drama into the dance. Bar & bar snacks will be available during the evening.
If booked separately; Friday evening workshop and dance £25. Dance only £12.

Saturday 3rd May 12.45pm doors open to register.
1.15-2.15pm Tango finish poses (Extra workshop £10) with Alex and Sonia. This workshop will cover tango poses that can be used at the close of a track or during pauses. Guidance into how to lead and follow such subtle and more dramatic poses.
2.30– 3.15 Musicality with Matthew - (Extra audience-based workshop £8). This is a rare musicality workshop from a professional who understands sound and music structures. This precious knowledge and participation will enhance the dance as you will begin to predict music changes even if you have never heard of the track.
3.30-4.45 Pablo & Florencia workshop 2 covering milonga. So, after your sit down with Matthew, let’s get more energised to learn more about this under-used fun dance so it will become a dance style you will be itching to dance to.
5.00-6.15pm Pablo & Florencia workshop 3 covering tango pattern to pick out technics that you can use within the dance. Having such world Argentine tango coaching experts teaching such technics is something to embrace.
6.15-7.30pm Time to rest before the evenings music begins. Included in the price weekend/day price is a hot buffet style bap meal with vegan option, tea and coffee.
A bar drinks voucher will be given to weekend and Saturday workshop attendees to choice of a beer, wine or a soft drink from the bar.
7.30 – 11.45pm the main hall will be waiting for you with a traditional Milonga by Bruce Cannon who will take you into an Argentine tango splendour of a sophisticated evening ball. Florencia and Pablo will perform their spectacular show dances for you during the evening too.
8.00-11.30pm the second room will be full of music that will encourage you to express your dancing emotions by Hannah Copper whether you choose to dance on the spot tango or any other styles such as modern blues or smooth.
Bar with bar snacks will be open.
If booked separately; Saturday including 2x workshop, buffet meal, drinks and milonga is £65. Evening Milonga/dance and show only is £20.
Why not add the additional workshops on musicality for an extra £8 and/or the tango poses workshop for an extra £10.00. Both are on early Saturday afternoon.

You can arrange Hotel accommodation directly nearby directly with the Marriot Hotel, Keele Just 7 minutes by car book early from £77 per room per night. Or around 15 minutes away by car is The Holiday Inn starting from £55 per room per night booking early. If you prefer the Premier Inn on the beautiful Trentham Garden Village with its luxury shops, garden centre and Trentham Gardens, also near the Monkey Forest is about 20 minutes by car. Alternatively, there will be Air B&B’s nearby.
If you are visiting this area for the first time, it’s also a chance to explore middle England and nearby Wales. You can make a good long Bank Holiday weekend or week of it because the area has local attractions such as Trentham Gardens with its lovely lakeside gardens, cabin style shopping area plus there is the Monkey Forest and Wedgewood pottery nearby too. This area is within easy reach of Manchester with its world-famous football teams and Liverpool cultural city known for its memory lane of the Beatles, music and many comedians. Or you may like to explore Telford Bliss Hill Victorian Town open air museum and Thomas Telford’s first Iron Bridge in this picturesque town which is also near to Bridgenorth with its upper and lower town on the River Severn. The Welsh border is within easy reach too with its spectacular mountain ranges such as Snowdonia and its beautiful sandy beaches.
