Tampere Burlesque tuo osana upeaa Tampere Burlesque Experience -festivaalia jälleen myös workshopeja kaupunkiin! Luvassa on 4 täysin erilaista työpajaa, joita ei kaupungissa ole nähty. Niiden vetäjät ovat lajinsa asiantuntijoita.
Tampere Burlesque is bringing as a part ofthe amazin festival Tampere Burlesque Experience 4 workshops! In Tampere is going to be 4 totally different workshops from professionals of their own topics.
1. LA/SAT KLO 10:30-12
Character workshop with Dairy King
Join drag king and neo-burlesque performer Dairy King for a workshop where we will explore how to create a character. Drawing on his training with renowned clown Philippe Gaulier, this workshop focuses on how we can discover what is funny, alive and surprising. Perfection is not expected nor desired. We will have fun to fail together!
Open to all experience levels, the workshop welcomes complete beginners, seasoned performers, and anyone curious about exploring character through play.
Together we'll explore:
Character creation and development
Physicality and movement
Major and Minor
Building confidence with improvisation
Finding your pleasure to be onstage
How to prepare
Whether you already have a character you'd like to get to know better, a brand-new idea you'd like to explore, or absolutely no idea where to even start, you're very welcome.
If possible, please bring costume—anything from a full outfit to a single item or prop to help you transform yourself. If you don't yet know who your character is, spend some time before the workshop in a charity shop, or see what’s at the back of your wardrobe. Look for something that catches your eye and allow yourself to dream around it. You don't need a finished character—just the beginning.
Please also bring:
Comfortable clothes you can move in
A bottle of water
A notebook and pen (optional)
This workshop aims to create a supportive, playful, and adventurous space where participants can experiment freely, take risks, and perhaps discover something—or someone—they didn't know was there before!

Rock n roll Burlesque with Salty Punch is a workshop that explores the spunk, sensuality and attitude that comes out in really hot rock music! Through across the floor exercises and choreography we tackle cool moves with a focus on self-esteem and power in the name of rock’n roll.
The workshop is suitable for all experience levels. Feel free to try dancing in heels!
About the leader:
Salty Punch is a well-known name on the Swedish burlesque scene and a seasoned course leader with over a decade of experience teaching burlesque. She has her home base in
Karlshamn and is the founder of Shimmy Galore Burlesque where she holds courses, workshops and produces shows.

Esittely: Esiintyjän tärkein työväline on läsnäolo - ilman sitä kimmeltävinkin taidonnäyte jää ontoksi. Parhaimmillaan läsnäolo on yhdessä jaettu kokemus, jossa niin yleisö kuin esiintyjäkin kokee tulevansa kannatelluksi ja kohdatuksi. Läsnäoloon vaikuttaa paitsi esityksen sisältö myös esiintyjän kyky kutsua yleisö kanssaan kokemaan kanssaan sen eri vaiheet.
Katse on yksi läsnäolomme keskeisimmistä elementeistä. Katseen avulla viestimme, hyväilemme, haastamme ja houkuttelemme. Katse on intiimi työkalu, joka mahdollistaa läheisyyden kokemuksen tuottamisen esiintyjän ja yleisön välillä välimatkan päästä.

Työpajassa tehdään lempeitä liikeimprovisaatioharjoitteita, tutkitaan katseen kohteena olemista ja katseen palauttamista, ja tutkitaan mielikuvien vaikutusta keholliseen ilmaisuun ja liikkeen laatuun. Työpajan sisältö on pyritty luomaan niin, että kaikki harjoitteet voi tarvittaessa toteuttaa itselle sopivalla tavalla.
Ohjaajsta: Stella Polaire on suomalainen burleskiesiintyjä, juontaja, tuottaja ja tuleva burleskimaisteri. Hän suorittaa tällä hetkellä maisterin tutkintoa Live Arts and Pefromance -maisteriohjlelmassa, Teatterikorkeakoulussa. Stella aloitti esiintymisen Burlesque Polaire -ryhmässä vuonna 2008, ja ollut mukana suomalaisen uuden burleskin kentällä sen alkuajoista asti. Esiintyjänä ja tutkijana Stella kiinnostaa suomalainen kulttuuri, aistikkuus, läsnäolo ja kehollisuus.
In the Gaze -Workshop Description
A performer's most important instrument is presence. Without it, even the most dazzling display of skill can feel hollow. At its best, presence becomes a shared experience in which both performer and audience feel held, seen, and connected. Presence is shaped not only by what happens on stage, but also by the performer's ability to invite the audience into the unfolding experience.
The gaze is one of the most powerful elements of presence. Through our gaze we communicate, caress, challenge, and entice. It is an intimate tool that allows a performer to create a sense of closeness with the audience, even across physical distance.
In the Gaze is a workshop exploring presence, the expressive power of the gaze, and sensual embodiment. Through gentle movement improvisation, participants will explore what it feels like to be the object of another's gaze, how to return the gaze, and how imagery can influence physical expression and the quality of movement. The aim of the workshop is to offer participants embodied experiences of connection that can later be integrated into their own artistic practice.
In the Gaze is open to participants of all experience levels. No previous background in dance, burlesque, or performance is required. Curiosity about working with the gaze, embodied expression, and a willingness to experiment are all you need. The workshop has been designed so that every exercise can be adapted to suit each participant's own comfort level and needs.
About the Instructor
Stella Polaire is a Finnish burlesque performer, host, producer, currently finishing her Master’s degree in the Live Arts and Performance Master’s Program in The Theatre Academy, with her research focusing on Burlesque. She began performing with Burlesque Polaire in 2008 and has been part of the Finnish neo-burlesque scene since its early years. As both a performer and researcher, Stella's work explores Finnish culture, sensuality, presence, and embodiment.

Ava Galactica
Maksuttomassa Burleski ja apurahat -työpajassa käydään läpi, millaisia apurahoja suomalaiset taide- ja kulttuuri-instituutiot tarjoavat sekä yksittäisille burleskitaiteilijoille että työryhmille ja yhdistyksille. Käymme läpi, mitä hakemuksessa yleensä kysytään, miten omaa toimintaa voi sanoittaa rahoittajille ymmärrettävästi ja vakuuttavasti, mitä liitteitä tarvitaan ja miltä ne voivat näyttää.
Keskustelemme myös, miksi burleskiin kannattaa hakea apurahoja aktiivisesti: Burleski on Suomessa verrattain nuori taidemuoto, eikä sillä ole vielä taideinstituutioissa samanlaista asemaa kuin monilla vakiintuneemmilla esittävän taiteen lajeilla. Jokainen hakemus tekee burleskia näkyvämmäksi rahoittajille ja auttaa rakentamaan ymmärrystä siitä, että kyse on vakavasti otettavasta taiteellisesta työstä. Työpaja on avoin kaikille burleskin ja sen sisarlajien kuten dragin parissa aikaa viettäville, esiintymiskokemus ei ole oleellinen. Työpaja on maksuton, mutta vaatii ilmoittautumisen. Lunasta oma paikkasi Holvista (hintaan 0 €). Työpajan vetää Ava Galactica.
