Vocalist TAMMY McCANN was an opera student in Chicago when she overheard someone practicing a tune by Thelonious Monk. At that point, she decided to apply her considerable vocal range to a broad palette of musical styles, bringing together her classical training with gospel and jazz. She has recorded several critically acclaimed CDs and performed with such luminaries as Ramsey Lewis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and as a "Raelette" with the great Ray Charles. McCann is a powerful, sultry, and soulful singer with a knack for making her lyrics come to life. Arts critic Howard Reich describes her as having “a voice that soars in all registers, at all tempos, on all occasions... a voice that inspires wonder!”
