About this Event

Tax isn’t something many people love to talk about, but it affects us all and plays a big role in everyday life.

We’re looking for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are willing to yarn with us about their experiences with tax and dealing with the Australian Taxation Office – what’s been hard, what’s confusing, and what could be done better.

We’re holding a yarning session in Launceston

Wednesday 19 August 2026
10:00am - 11:30am

Aboriginal Elders Council of Tasmania (ECoTAC Hall)

Chalmers Hall, 163 St John St, Launceston TAS 7250

These yarning sessions are being held on behalf of the Tax Ombudsman, the independent watchdog. Everything you share will be kept anonymous - your name and other details will not be shared with the Australian Taxation Office or used for any other purpose. Jindawayni is an Aboriginal-owned business, and the sessions will be run by Aboriginal staff.
