A National Family History Month event delivered by Maureen Bennett.
About this Event

National Family History Month is a nationwide celebration of the stories, mysteries and secrets that shape who we are. Join Maureen Bennett for a discussion of her latest book, Alice and Daniel Stanfield: A First Fleet Family’s Impact on Australia.

Many Australians have expressed pride in their descent from Daniel and Alice Stanfield. Both were First Fleet travellers who stepped ashore at Sydney Cove on 28 January 1788.

Daniel and Alice were married in Australia in 1791 and made their home on Norfolk Island, later moving to Van Diemen’s Land.

This book gives a glimpse into the life they led, and the descendants that followed.
