About this Event
Join the Belmont Community Cinema for a talk exploring the use of Scotland's architecture in film to create a sense of time and place in cinematic storytelling. This talk will also give audiences a chance to see inside the currently closed Belmont Cinema and support the charity's mission to re-open a truly independent cinema for the people of Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland.
This talk is created to explore the 2025 Doors Open Day themes of Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future , and celebrate the rich diversity of buildings that surround us, exploring buildings and infrastructure of all styles and scales. From a heritage perspective, we can appreciate the design, scale, form, and decorative beauty not only in the grand buildings and monuments of cities, but also in the streets and houses where we work and live. Every village, town, and city has its own architectural heritage, reflecting local history, culture, and economy.
