TALK: A Window into The Belmont's Past and Opening Doors to its Future

As part of Aberdeen Doors Open Day, Belmont Community Cinema CEO, Matt Buchanan, will bring audience members into the closed Belmont Cinema Screen 1, to explore the cinema of the past, update visitors on the project to Re-open the Doors as a truly independent community cinema, and walk you through our vision for the future.

This talk will follow the themes of Doors Open Day 2025, exploring the Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Futureeconomy, celebrating the rich diversity of buildings that surround us, and exploring buildings and infrastructure of all styles and scales. From a heritage perspective, we can appreciate the design, scale, form, and decorative beauty, not only in the grand buildings and monuments of cities, but also in the streets and houses in which we work and live.
