In 2026 marks the tricentenary of Sir John Vanbrugh’s death. A series of events are being organised across the country to celebrate the achievements of “the rock star of the English Baroque”. Six Vanbrugh houses, including Kimbolton, will be the prime focus in honouring his importance as playwright and architect.
This talk by the Castle Curator, Andrew Bamford, will examine how the relationship between Vanbrugh and the owner of Kimbolton Castle, Charles Montagu 4th Earl of Manchester was not just a transactional link between architect and client.
Tickets are free, but must be pre-booked following the link.
