Since his first shipment in December 2020 Bako has been dedicated to documenting every live export shipment out of Fremantle Port. In 64 months he has been there to bear witness to 205 shipments and counting.
Bako left behind a lifestyle in Central Coast, NSW, self-described as ‘going nowhere’, surrounded by drugs, violence, gambling and crime. The 60 minutes, Animals Australia expose of the Awassi Express changed the trajectory of Bako’s life, setting him on a path of animal rights discovery, veganism and a relocation to Western Australia.
Bako will be talking about his first hand experiences bearing witness to the horrific live animal export industry in Fremantle and how learning about live export changed his life.
