Taking Auction Is Back - with a Pickleball Twist
Taking Auction is a neighbourly gathering built around a simple idea:
Bringing people together for a fun evening can make a meaningful difference.
Now in our fifth year, the event has raised more than $50,000 to date, in support of Doctors Without Borders. None of that would have been possible without the generosity of our neighbours, friends, local businesses, and sponsors.
This year, we’re switching things up!
For the first time, Taking Auction is heading to the pickleball courts at Fairgrounds.
Never played pickleball? No problem. Playing is completely optional. Jump on the court, cheer on your neighbours, browse the silent auction, or simply enjoy the food, drinks, and company.
What’s Happening
- Pickleball for all experience levels (every person is guaranteed a minimum of 30 minutes of play, and most will be able to play for 60 minutes)
- A silent auction featuring prizes from local businesses
- Finger foods and a bar
- Plenty of time to catch up with neighbours and meet some new ones

Five Years of Neighbours Making a Difference
What began as a local gathering has grown into something pretty special. Over the past four years, Taking Auction has brought neighbours, friends, and local businesses together to raise more than $50,000 for Doctors Without Borders.
As we enter our fifth year, we’re giving the event a fresh spin while keeping its heart the same: good people coming together to have fun and support a cause that matters.
All proceeds will support Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which provides medical care to people affected by conflict, displacement, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and other crises around the world.
