Join us for a service of light, music, silence and prayer as we celebrate the end of the Christmas season and the beginning of the season of Epiphany. We remember the coming of the magi to worship Jesus, but also the revelation of God's light in Jesus' life and ministry and in our own lives today.Service will be streamed on Facebook as well as in person.
Taizé (pronounced teh-ZAY) is a contemplative form of worship that emerged from an ecumenical monastic community in Taizé, France. These services offer a peaceful retreat from our busy world through:
🕯️ Simple, repetitive songs - Short chants sung multiple times, that allow the words and melodies to sink deeply into our hearts
🙏 Extended periods of silence - Time to rest in God's presence without words or agenda
📖 Scripture readings - Brief passages read aloud, giving us something to meditate on
✨ Candlelight and icons - A visual atmosphere that helps us focus on the sacred
Taizé services are known for their meditative quality and accessibility - you don't need to know the music beforehand, and the repetitive nature makes it easy to join in. People of all Christian traditions (and those exploring faith) find these services meaningful.
