Tai chi is often described as "meditation in motion," but it might well be called "Medic*tion in motion." There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many health problems. It strengthens your muscle strength without any burden on the heart, and various functions of the body are improved during do tai chi.
Tai Chi imparts a number of mind and body health benefits including:
- better sleep
- improved immune function
- balance which improves posture and prevents falls
- clarity in thought and enhanced focus
- greater endurance
- reduction of stress
- elimination of depression or anxiety
- development of a sense of calm and belonging in the world.
These are just a few of the benefits. There is so much more to tai chi than just reading about it. The only way to truly experience all the benefits of this wonderful practice and to feel better is to actually DO tai chi!
In this course, you will not only learn the techniques and forms of Tai Chi, but also practice the essence of Tai Chi movement-Qigong(Chi Kung). Tai Chi is an internal martial art known for its slow and smooth movements. Qigong is a technical system that emphasizes posture, breathing and meditation. Each one is a basic part of Tai Chi practice.
You will develop an understanding of how to control your movements through breathing. You will learn the important elements of rooting, walking, sinking and and also a complete forms of routines. This is a journey of cultivation of both your body and your mind.

How to find us:
Take Evans Road and take the 2600 Evans Road entrance to the Apex Nature Center, NOT the athletic field entrance. you will see a pavilion and a stage close to the parking lot.

How to wear on Tai Chi Class?
It is best to wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes that are suitable for sports shoes, the soles not too hard, long-sleeved clothes is better, the trousers that are stretchy but not too tight, prepare a pair of knee sleeves if you want to practice long time in the fruture. Bring your water, towel, anything else you personally need for the class. Don't be too full or be hungry.
