Art Director Lili Ibrahim will take us behind the scenes of one of the most visually distinctive game worlds ever created. Known for its impossible architecture and optical illusions, the Monument Valley series has always pushed the boundaries between video games, art, and emotion.
This third MV installment expands that legacy by addressing contemporary themes such as migration, community, and the climate crisis - all expressed through carefully crafted visual storytelling. As Lead Artist, Lili was responsible for shaping the game’s visual identity, evolving its iconic style while preserving what made Monument Valley instantly recognizable.
During this TAG Talk, Lili will share insights into:
• how art direction influences emotions, gameplay and meaning in games
• the artistic process behind Monument Valley 3
• balancing legacy with innovation in a beloved series
The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session, giving you the chance to explore deeper the creative process behind an iconic video game.
