About this Event
BAKEY has been an undeniable force in the UK Garage world for some years now. His productions and sets are an ode to the 2-step sound and the golden age of Leeds’s underground scene with a discography that distils powerful low-end, tight drums and driving hooks that have become his hallmark.
BAKEY's sound has had him play some of the most iconic festivals, events and venues such as Glastonbury, Gottwood, Boomtown, Waterworks and Outlook Origins, a Boiler Room headline in Naarm/Melbourne and many more. In 2023, BAKEY was named DJ Mag’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year. In 2024, he became a resident of the Warehouse Project, along with becoming their first artist signee with the release of his ‘Wouldn’t Believe’ single. His collaboration with Champion (International Man), his remix for Sam Binga (Natural Selection BAKEY Remix), His EP with Capo Lee (AM To PM EP) and his remix for Sammy Virji (Dis Badman BAKEY Remix) have all become modern classics in the UK Garage realm.
Joining us on July 11 in support of BAKEY are PC - Ottawa's own club music queen pushing the sound forward in the city, So Durand - known for his moody and bouncy productions playing all of his deepest cuts - playing a back to back set with Russ Plus - another Ottawa sweetheart with a nasty selection, and Pull Up's Bleu Pâle - with her exquisite sounds driving that system's low-end spectrum to kick off the night.
The evening will be powered by the HIFIVE crew and their sound system. This handcrafted system is a true work of art and passion, engineered for the chest rattling depths of bass music. In Montreal, the HIFIVE crew has powered unforgettable nights with their system for artists like Distinct Motive, Sully, Jack Sparrow, De-tü, Doctor Jeep, Madam X, and Bakey.
