Join the SemDems at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Festival in the Park in Sanford on Monday, January 19th. The MLK Festival in the Park is a fantastic event that we look forward to attending every year with our big, blue tent!Sign up for shift(s) here: https://www.mobilize.us/semdems/event/875196/
The event takes place at Heritage Park in Sanford (221 N. Palmetto Avenue, near the Sanford Civic Center). The event lasts from about 11:30am (after the parade) until 5pm, plus set up and take down, so there are several shifts available to make sure we cover the duration of the event. Feel free to select multiple shifts if you're up for a longer shift!
At the event we will provide voter information, register voters, update vote-by-mail requests, get candidate petitions signed, support candidates by handing out info, and encourage people to get involved with the SemDems.
Please wear a SemDems shirt or blue and bring water/snacks as needed. If you don’t have a SemDems shirt and would like one for the event, visit the SemDems office during office hours and purchase one using the QR code.
Please note: We will also be walking in the MLK Parade and need volunteers for that, too. Be advised, though, that the festival is at a different location than the start/end of the parade. See the separate mobilize link for the parade for more information. Although they are in different locations, you could feasibly walk in the parade and also volunteer for a later shift at the festival.
