Swindon Mindful Employer Network presents:

Join fellow mindful employers from Swindon and the local area for vital discussions on loneliness, connection, and employee mental health in the workplace.

As part of our Swindon Mindful Employer Network series, in partnership with Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind and Swindon Borough Council, this event will focus on tackling loneliness and isolation at work and explore how a lack of connection can impact mental health and wellbeing.

Aligned with Mental Health Awareness Week in May and Loneliness Awareness Week in June, the session will examine the challenges facing employees in hybrid and remote roles, freelancers, and younger workers. Gain insights, hear from our guest speakers, and engage in meaningful conversations to help create connected, inclusive, and supportive workplaces.

Loneliness and isolation are increasingly recognised as significant risks to mental health and wellbeing, particularly in modern working environments. Employees who feel disconnected are more likely to experience low mood, anxiety, reduced engagement, and poorer overall wellbeing, yet loneliness often goes unnoticed or unspoken in the workplace.

It is important for employers to understand the role they can play in building connection and belonging at work. This event will offer insights and practical strategies from expert speakers on how organisations can reduce isolation, foster meaningful connections, and create workplace cultures where employees feel supported, included, and able to thrive.

Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind offers mental health support through counselling, therapy, and community programs. They provide information, and workshops, fostering well-being and aiding recovery. Their services focus on promoting mental wellness and aiding individuals in their journey toward improved mental health and resilience.

The council is responsible for a wide range of services that serve the local population, these include adult & Childrens social care services, schools, housing and planning and waste collection.
