Join us Wednesday, May 20th from 4:00-6:00 pm as we gear up for the 2026 Swim for Grand Traverse Bay.If you’re already registered for the event, still deciding if you want to race, or if you’re interested in supporting the event as a volunteer, this open house is for you. This casual gathering is the perfect opportunity to:
- Meet a community of fellow open water swimmers
- Connect with race organizers to learn more about the event, the course, and any other details that will help you feel prepared to take the plunge
- Chat with veteran racers about their experiences preparing for the race, reaching their fundraising goals, and swimming out on the open water
- Connect with experienced fundraisers to get the tips and resources you need to reach and exceed your personal fundraising goal for the event
- Learn about ways you can volunteer at the event on shore and on the water
This year’s open house will be hosted by our Swim Tidal Sponsor, Traverse Tall Ship Company. Attendees will join us aboard tall ship Manitou and crew will have a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for sale. The boat will remain docked at Discovery Pier for the duration of the event and attendees are welcome to come and go as your schedule requires.
Parking on Discovery Pier is very limited. Attendees are asked to follow the signs for tall ship parking and park in the gravel lot across the road.
Discovery Pier is located at: 13271 S. West Bay Shore Dr.| Traverse City, MI 49684, next door to Greilickville Harbor Beach, the starting point for this year’s course.
