Join us for the 39th Annual Swim Across the Sound – An open-water marathon that supports cancer patients right here in our community.
This iconic swim raises funds for patients who urgently need help with rent, groceries, transportation, utilities, medical appointments, and other essential support while they undergo treatment.
The 2026 Swim Across the Sound will have a New Swim Route. Due to recent damage sustained at Danford's Marina in Port Jefferson, we have had to adjust our traditional route. To ensure a seamless and safe experience for all participants and volunteers, we are moving the entire event to the Connecticut side of the Sound this year. Swimmer will experience the same 15.5 mile swim but will start at Seaside Park in Bridgeport; pass Jennings Beach, Fairfield and have the same finish at Black Rock Harbor and celebration at captain’s cove.
This starting Line right here at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, CT brings heart-pounding excitement right to the water's edge. Spectators and the community now have access and a front-row seat to this historic event.
All Friday and Saturday events will be in Bridgeport. Steelpointe Harbor will host our boaters on Friday and Captain's Cove will continue to host our celebration on Saturday afternoon.

Members of the public are invited to join the fun at Captain’s Cove and cheer on the swimmers as they cross the finish line, starting around 2:30 p.m. An awards ceremony takes place shortly after all the swimmers have arrived.
Every role makes a difference and every mile swum helps a patient in need. Let’s make 2026 our biggest year yet!
