CCDS Annual Meeting

Join us at Providence Willamette Falls Community Center - Oregon City on April 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) for an exciting workshop on mastering suturing techniques. Dr. Aksha Govind will guide you through the art of suturing like a pro. Don't miss this hands-on learning experience!

Training will be conducted on pig jaws. Seats are limited so register early!

We will also hold our annual meeting and elections prior to the course.

Bio:

Dr. Govind is a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and Residency Program Director at Alameda Health System in Oakland, California. He practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with areas of clinical interest in facial trauma, head and neck infections, and ambulatory anesthesia. His research interests include surgical education, orbital trauma, and complex airway management. He has been an invited speaker at multiple national and regional meetings. In 2025, he received the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation’s Faculty Educator Development Award as well as the UCSF School of Dentistry Mentor of the Year Award. Prior to his current position, he was on faculty at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) School of Dentistry from 2018 to 2020, where he received the 2019 Attending of the Year Award. In his free time, he enjoys writing and performing music, cooking, coaching soccer, and raising his two children, Kaleo and Sequoia with his wife Carly. Oregon holds a special place in his heart, and he looks forward to what will be his fourth running of the Hood to Coast relay later this summer with Drs. Schofield and Potter.
