Overview
Do you want to learn more about sustainable transport and the innovative efforts being implemented to become more sustainable/green? Are you curious as to how EVs (Electric Vehicles) work?
This accredited course will help you understand the extent of the impact petrol/diesel-fuelled transport has on the environment and our health. You will also be introduced to the use of hydrogen and fuel cells, and take a closer look at the environmental impact of options for sustainable transport.

During this unit, learners will investigate and develop an understanding of:
Impact of petrol/diesel-fuelled transport
- Poor/Acceptable/Excellent air quality.
- Air pollutants (source and impact)
- Pollutant contributions from a range of vehicles.
- Environmental impact.
- Health impact.
Hydrogen and Fuel Cells
- Fuel cells.
- Range of fuel and fuel cell options in vehicles.
- Hydrogen fuel cells.
- Requirements of a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle infrastructure.
Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure
- Methods of charging EVs.
- National power demands of EVs.
- Government ban on petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030.
Sustainable Modes of Transport
- Sustainable modes and their benefits.
- Employee commutes
- Environmental impact of options for sustainable transport.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive an e-certificate (a paper certificate can be sent out upon request) that will enhance your CV and support your career progression.
