How does the way we use and protect our land shape the future of our towns and environment? In this session, local experts will explore the intersection of sustainability, land use, and community planning, discussing the importance of thoughtful development, conservation, and resilience. The session will conclude with a panel discussion and audience Q&A.

Our Speakers

• Margaret Waldock will share insights into the power of place and the vision for Frenchtown’s Greenbelt as vital green infrastructure for a more sustainable and resilient future. As the Executive Director of Duke Farms, Margaret has spent her career advocating for land conservation, climate resilience, and nature-based solutions. A former member of the Frenchtown Planning Board and Environmental Commission, she is passionate about preserving open spaces and ensuring they support both ecological health and vibrant local communities.
• Armin Zomorodi will provide a builder’s perspective on how zoning approaches play a crucial role in sustainability, shaping the way communities grow and develop. Since 2009, Armin has been a managing partner of Material Design Build LLC, a residential design and construction firm specializing in sustainable, high-performance projects. His work in creating buildings led to a deep interest in zoning and how policies influence what gets built, where, and why.
