About this Event
"Does living sustainably in today's world mean being an idealistic hypocrite?
Speaker: Ann Marie Fuller
Aimed at local Employers and Employees looking to integrate best practice at both work and home, this event is a collaboration between Tralee Chamber and Tralee Tidy Towns, sponsored by Bank of Ireland Tralee.
Our guest speaker is Anne-Marie Fuller. Anne-Marie is a carer and community volunteer striving for balance and trying to walk the talk. She is deeply interested in systems thinking and how we bring forth a regenerative future where people live flourishing lives as part of a thriving ecosystem.
Along with being active in Tralee Tidy Towns she is the Environmental Representative for Kerry Public Participation Network (PPN) and sits on the secretariat. As part of this role she is a PPN rep on Kerry County Council's Local Community and Development Committee (LCDC) and the Environment, Climate Action and Emergency Strategic Policy Committee (SPC). She sits on the board of Feasta - The Foundation for the Economics of Sustainability and is an active member of the Irish Doughnut Economics Network. She has a doctorate in chemistry and her professional experience includes working in technology development, operations and business development in the energy industry.
The United Nations defines sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Anne-Marie will facilitate a session exploring what this means for us in our work, homes and daily lives.
