Grab your flip flops and get ready for a week of seaside adventure during Surf’s Up Week at Family Learning Lab! This ocean-themed week is filled with beach science, creative projects, water-inspired art, and hands-on summer fun for kids who love sunshine, sand, and waves.
*NOT a drop off program.
Morning sessions are geared toward younger children and include open play in our sensory play area and LEGO zone, along with one guided activity such as Circle Time with Science, Sensory Seekers, or a Jr. Painted Art Project.
This week’s guided morning activities include Sink or Float With a Splash, where kids can test objects in water, Sea Foam Play sensory fun, and Wood Flip Flops, a creative paint project.
Afternoon guided activities led by our Camp Guide include Shark Tooth Bracelets, Wave in a Bottle science, Giant Surfboard Paintings, Layered Sand Art, Water Density Lab, Ocean Wave Canvas Painting, Seashell Frames, Sandcastle Erosion Lab, and Painted Beach Bags to take home.
Friday morning STEAM Camp begins with a LEGO build warm-up challenge before kids work together on our Sink the Coconut Challenge, a fun team-based engineering activity focused on building, testing, and problem solving.
Open Paint & Slime returns Friday afternoon, giving families a creative and playful way to wrap up the week together.
All sessions are open to ages 4–12. Afternoon sessions also keep our sensory play area and LEGO wall available, so children can choose guided activities, free exploration, or a mix of both.
