About this Event
Does your organisation hesitate when approached by someone with a criminal background? You're not alone.
Many charities feel uncertain about working with people who have criminal records – worried about risk, lacking clear information, unsure how to engage safely. Yet our sector achieves remarkable outcomes when we get it right. At The Oswin Project, we see 96% non-reoffending rates for service users ready for change.
The challenge: People leaving Pr*son face multiple barriers – employment discrimination, housing instability, license conditions, probation supervision, sometimes MAPPA oversight. Without guidance, we often step back from those who need us most.
The opportunity: This FREE Trailblazer-funded event brings together North East third sector organisations to change that.
We'll explore:
✅ What holds us back from working confidently with this group
✅ What information and support we need to engage safely
✅ How our expertise reduces reoffending and strengthens communities
✅ Real benefits of employing people with lived experience
Join us for honest conversation, practical scenarios, and collaborative solutions.
