About this Event
Save money by signing up for all three Supervisor Toolkits! These workshops equip supervisors with essential leadership skills to succeed in their roles.
Workshop Dates:
- Toolkit I: Supervisory Fundamentals
Date: November 6, 2024 | Time: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Description: When individual contributors are promoted but not provided the tools needed to successfully lead others, it can strip them of their confidence, decrease their motivation to appropriately delegate work, cause unnecessary conflicts, and reduce overall morale and effectiveness. This first workshop of the Supervisor’s Toolkit series is foundational to setting up new supervisors with the fundamentals of being a supervisor, so they can embody their role and lead with presence and confidence. Supervisors come away with a clear understanding of their role as a supervisor/manager from attending Toolkit I. Attendees will learn how to make the transition from being an individual contributor to leading others and to strengthen their command presence by embodying the attitudes, behaviors, and skills that will contribute to their effectiveness in achieving results through others.
- Toolkit II: Tough Conversations
Date: November 13, 2024 | Time: 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Description: Supervisors and managers often need to have conversations that they would rather not have. Dealing with performance issues or habitual patterns, like chronic lateness, can be tough and may stir up emotions. Nonetheless, tough conversations are crucial in the workplace and need to be handled appropriately. Avoiding difficult topics can often result in bigger problems and more conflict. This practical course gives attendees the confidence to recognize, plan and manage challenging conversations, including addressing “the elephant in the room” types of issues. Attendees are provided opportunities to practice using constructive feedback techniques so that they return to the workplace with the skills to help employees achieve results and have positive outcomes.
- Toolkit III: Conflict Management
Date: November 13, 2024 | Time: 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Description: Supervisors and managers face and resolve problems that stem from conflict every day. Supervising employees with different personalities and work approaches can create confusion, disagreements, and conflict. Therefore, resolving internal conflicts with individuals or between team members is a key skill for today’s supervisor. Addressing conflict early supports high levels of performance at the individual and team level. This workshop provides attendees with a process for having challenging conversations and honing supervisory skills. The focus is on learning and practicing the steps necessary for providing constructive feedback and resolving conflicts that show up in the workplace.
By enrolling in all three workshops, you'll strengthen your leadership presence and ensure you're fully prepared to manage any supervisory challenge.
