Join us for an amazing paddle experience as we have a near simultaneous sunset and moon rise. Every year we analyze the calendar looking for special opportunities to take advantage of mother nature. We look for full moons that rise at a reasonable hour and then we make a plan to make it happen. Due to the nature of the program we require you to read this in detail so you know what you are getting into. Putting a little extra effort will ensure your safety and provide for what some have called ‘A life changing experience’.Schedule – Sunday March 1st
Arrive by 3:45pm (You can come sooner)
Mandatory Safety Meeting 4pm
Launch Time 4:30pm (No late paddlers!)
Last Paddler off the water 7:00pm
If you have your own board or boat then the cost is $20 to attend. If you need to rent a boat or board you can rent a single kayak or SUP for the event for $50 or a double for $70 + tax. This includes the cost of the event itself. In other words the SUP and Kayak rental is $40 additional and the double kayak is $60 additional to $20 per person.
While many people have done the event on SUP’s, kayaks tend to work better for staring up into the sky! Reservations are required so call us at 650-362-4345 to reserve your spot or do it online. Spots are limited so reserve your spot early.
What to wear – Dress in warm clothing that is based on synthetic fibers. NO COTTON. Materials like Nylon, Spandex, Lycra, Radon or Goretex are perfect. If you want to be really warm, and think getting wet would be in your future a layer of neoprene is not a bad idea. A thinner non-surfing wetsuit as a base layer, like a 2mm shorty or 3/2 fullsuit will make your evening bulletproof. With that said most folks wear layers of synthetic fiber based clothing. A warm beanie is a good call too – but again NO COTTON.
We’ll provide the lights, along with some glow sticks, and multiple of our on the water guides to keep everyone safe. Low light photography will be attempted by your guides but no promises on Ansel Adams like photos.
We generally spend about 90 minutes in total on the water and then retire to the shop to warm up with some light refreshments. Feel free to bring a picnic if you want to hang out and make a full evening of it.
TIMING
You must arrive and be ready to depart the dock by our fixed times or you will miss out!
You are welcome to start early but we have the last possible start time and our end times are fixed.
You must come back to the dock at the designated end times if you are renting gear. If you bring your own gear you can continue to paddle but must check in with us.
If you need to finish early you can but you will not be able to get into the shop so make sure you have everything you need with you. Please also let us know ahead of time that you plan to finish early.

Cancellation requires 48 hours to get a refund as these spots are highly desired.
Any cancellation by us – for weather or other safety reasons – will result in full refunds for everyone.
