About this Event

This guided hike on the Sunnyside Peninsula will introduce participants to a remarkable natural area located within Lancaster City. As we walk the site, we’ll explore its unique ecology, learn about the land’s history, and discuss future plans for an Environmental Center and Nature Preserve that will provide public access, environmental education, and opportunities for community connection.

Bring a water bottle and hiking shoes and get ready to discover the largest natural area in the city that you’ve never seen!

Note: These trails are not currently open to the public outside of guided programs.

What to Expect: This hike will be approximately 2 miles on uneven terrain. Recommended for ages 10 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). There are no restrooms available on site.

Where to Meet: Please meet in the parking area for the Conestoga Greenway Trail: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EDTVFbpNbEzezyNB6

What to Bring: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes or boots for hiking. Bring water.

Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.

Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, the event will be canceled and attendees will be notified via email.
