About this Event

Rest & reset your week with ICA!

Start your week with balance and renewal at this month’s Sunday Reset. Join us for a herbal tea-making workshop led by yoga instructor Craig, where you’ll explore the art of blending herbs, learn about the properties of each ingredient, and create your own personalized tea blend. Following the workshop, immerse yourself in a grounding yoga meditation designed to align your body and mind. This calming practice draws inspiration from our current exhibition, , inviting you to stretch, breathe, and connect with all your senses.

Whether you seek meditative calm, a source of artistic inspiration, or a creative outlet, this one is for you! BYO yoga mat, or grab one from us!

This program is part of our monthly series, Sunday Reset, which features Philadelphia area practitioners working at the juncture of art and wellness.

About the instructor

Craig (S. Craig, pronouns: they/them) is a Black nonbinary queer femme based in Philadelphia PA. brought to yoga as means of restorative love, support and discovery for the self and the community. Craig graduated from Won Institute of Graduate Studies in 2024 and received their Masters in Acupuncture Studies. They are currently in pursuit of their Doctorate in Acupuncture. Craig is more than happy to talk to anyone about acupuncture, cupping, meditation, qi gong and more! Craig hopes to cultivate space for rest, strength for resistance, and accessible & sustainable wellness practices to share virtually and in person. Craig values rest and recuperation, constantly interrogating what accessibility is and for whom.

Craig’s vinyasa flows are paced by the live community class at hand; practicing and leaning into students’ needs and goals for practice for the day. Craig finds refuge in lots of prop usage, offering variation of poses, the simplicity of the present moment, and invites pause, rest and ease into practice with many giggles and jokes inbetween.

Follow @craiggyboiwellness on Instagram for their classes + events!

Scope of practice: accessible yoga, prop/resource supported yoga, vinyasa, chair yoga, sound bath, meditation, immersing yin/yang/5 Element theory and principles , TCM

About the exhibition

: is the first in-depth survey of Carl Cheng’s prescient, genre-defying work from the 1960s to the present that will transform both floors of the ICA. Cheng began his career in the experimental context of the Southern California art scene and the post-war aerospace industry, resulting in artworks that operate at the intersection of identity, technology, and ecology. Over the last six decades he has worked in a variety of media to reflect on environmental change, the relevance of art institutions to their publics, and the role of technology in society. Because the majority of Cheng’s oeuvre is still in his possession, the exhibition will be an exciting and rare opportunity to animate the arc of his career through a presentation of artworks that are multidisciplinary, ephemeral, material, process-based, and interactive. The exhibition will also be presented at The Contemporary Austin – Jones Center (September – December 2024), Bonnefanten (May – September 2025), and Museum Tinguely (December 2025 – May 2026).
