Sunbury Litter Clean-Up
About this Event
Join us to celebrate Stormwater Awareness Week and help make your community cleaner and greener! The City of Sunbury and Delaware Soil & Water Conservation District are hosting a litter clean-up to keep trash out of our streets and storm drains, and therefore protect our streams and waterways.
Stormwater Awareness Week takes place from October 1 - 7 each year. Soil and Water Conservation Districts urge you to "Be the Change for Clean Water" by picking up litter and making sure only rain goes down your storm drains. Learn more at ohiostormwaterweek.org
We will be cleaning up in the wide right-of-way grassy areas along 36/37 and OH-3. Safety is certainly a concern along these routes, but these areas have plenty of green space to spread out and stay clear of cars. You may choose to stick closer to the parking lots in the shopping areas if you have younger kids or don't feel safe in these spots. Only go where you are comfortable!
Litter grabbers, safety vests, gloves, and trash bags will all be provided by Keep Delaware County Beautiful.
Open to ages 5+, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Where to Meet: Meet at the Southeast end of the Sunbury Kroger parking lot, which is the end of the parking lot furthest from the store.
What to Wear and Bring: Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, sturdy, close-toed shoes, and bring water and sunscreen. No bare feet or flip-flops.
Volunteer Waiver: To streamline the check-in process, we encourage you to print and sign the "Volunteer Hold Harmless Agreement" below. You may scan and send to [email protected], or bring with you the day of the event.
Together, we can help keep Sunbury beautiful. See you there!
