Summergrass San Diego takes place each August in Vista, California, at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, located at 2040 N. Santa Fe Avenue, Vista, CA 92083. Set among the Museum’s historic grounds, Summergrass is more than a music festival—it is a weekend filled with outstanding bluegrass, community, and the welcoming spirit that keeps guests returning year after year.
Many Summergrass attendees arrive as early as possible to enjoy the camaraderie, late-night picking circles, and informal jam sessions in the campground. Festival camping registration is valid beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday before the festival and continues through Monday following the event, giving guests plenty of time to relax and enjoy the full experience.
As a Summergrass guest, your admission also includes access to explore the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum grounds during festival hours. Museum buildings are open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and feature a fascinating collection of antique machinery, engines, tools, and exhibits that reflect the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the era in which bluegrass music began.
