Día de Muertos Vista is the inaugural city-scale cultural street festival honoring one of Mexico’s most meaningful traditions through remembrance, art, heritage, and community connection. Set to take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, this landmark event will transform South Santa Fe Avenue in Vista into a vibrant cultural corridor spanning from The Commons Venue and Ascend Coffee Roasters through approximately two city blocks of small businesses, creating the first official Día de Muertos street closure and celebration of its kind in the city.
Produced by The Movement Brand in partnership with Ascend Coffee Roasters and The Commons Venue, this inaugural tradition is designed to activate and uplift a historically overlooked corridor made up primarily of independent, family-owned businesses—bringing visibility, economic opportunity, and cultural pride to the heart of the community.
The festival will celebrate the rich traditions of Día de Muertos while spotlighting the Indigenous and regional diversity of Mexico, with a special emphasis on Oaxacan cultural representation, authentic performances, ceremonial altars, live music, artisan vendors, food experiences, youth activities, and immersive community installations. Guests will have the opportunity to build and contribute to public altars, participate in sugar skull workshops, witness traditional danza and ceremonial offerings, and experience a curated marketplace featuring artists, makers, and culturally rooted brands.
More than a festival, Día de Muertos Vista is a legacy-building cultural movement—created to preserve tradition, strengthen community identity, and establish a new annual destination event for North County. Sponsorship directly supports cultural programming, youth engagement, artist opportunities, community accessibility, and the preservation of an important tradition in an evolving city.
For sponsors, this is an opportunity to align with an impactful, grassroots-led cultural initiative at its foundation—to be recognized not only as a supporter, but as a founding partner of Vista’s first official Día de Muertos street festival.
