Join the Northwest Wine and Food Society for our June Wine Chat Wednesday, where we return to Willful Wine for a deep dive into the Pinot Noirs of the Willamette Valley. At this Wine chat, Winemaker Pam Walden will explain how geography, soil, and microclimates shape the character and flavor of the wine.
Willful Wines proudly uses only Oregon grown grapes, and her Pinot Noirs featuring fruit from four different AVA's:
-Dundee Hills: Famous for its red volcanic "Jory" soil and elegant, red-fruited wines.
-Yamhill-Carlton: Known for ancient sedimentary soils that produce darker, earthier profiles.
-Ribbon Ridge: The valley's smallest AVA, noted for its intense concentration and spice.
-Chehalem Mountains: A diverse range offering a complex spectrum of altitudes and flavors.
Whether you are a seasoned collector or a curious enthusiast, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn how these sub-regions vary in the grapes they produce and learn exactly what makes the Willamette Valley a world-class home for Pinot Noir
