SUMMER STUDIO DAY - "Painting With Fabric," by Courtney
Kinusaiga was developed in Japan during the 1980s by artist Maeno Takashi, who was inspired by traditional Japanese textile arts and the desire to give new life to fabric scraps.
Our artists will learn the basics of Kinusaiga to create their own unique fabric artwork. We’ll explore color, pattern, texture, and composition while transforming simple pieces of fabric into beautiful works of art. This class requires the use of a hobby knife. Artists under 13 (or without permission) can choose from a pre-designed and cut panel or I welcome a parent or guardian to join us to assist with sharp tools. This project is great for young artists who enjoy crafting, designing, and working with their hands.
