Spend your summer on wheels with SLOCO Junior Roller Derby. Our Summer Skate Program is designed to help skaters of all levels improve their skills in a fun, supportive skate camp environment. From brand-new beginners to experienced derby skaters, participants will build confidence, strengthen basic through advanced skills and get ready for the next roller derby season.
The program is open to youth ages 7-17 and welcomes both SLOCO skaters and the public. No roller derby experience is required, and there is no obligation to join roller derby after the program.
Session 1
Physics on Wheels! Exploring Physics Through Roller Skating
June 15–18; June 22–25
Monday–Thursday | 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Special activities:
-Skate Maintenance Day
-Meadow Park Trail Skate and Play Day
Session 2
Level Up! Building Speed and Balance
July 13–16; July 20–23
Monday–Thursday | 12:30–4:30 p.m.
Special activities:
-Madonna Inn Bike Trail to Froom Ranch
-Bob Jones Trail Skate
Session 3
Fancy Feet! Technique and Finesse
July 27–30; Aug. 3–6
Monday–Thursday | 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Special activities:
-Skate Park Day
-Talent Show for all summer participants
Session 3 is open to current SLOCO skaters and skaters who have completed Session 1 or 2.
Skill Levels
Sessions 1 and 2 are open to all skaters, from beginners to advanced.
Session 3 is for current SLOCO skaters and skaters who have completed at least one previous summer session, with a focus on higher-level skills and gameplay.
Registration fees
Regular Skater | $250 per session
Multiple Sessions | $225 per session when registering for additional sessions
Each session includes:
-Daily skating instruction
-Skill-building across beginner to advanced levels
-Roller derby, recreational, speed and artistic skating
-Games, snacks and off-skates activities
-Special field trips and adventure days
Skaters should expect to work hard, improve their skills and have a ton of fun.

Whether your child is trying skating for the first time or preparing for the next derby season, SLOCO summer skate program is a great way to stay active, build confidence and make new friends.
