Main subjects covered will include:

  • Green Economics and ESG Strategies
  • Social and Environmental Accounting
  • Climate Justice Climate Finance and Green Finance
  • Defund Destruction, Funding the Just Transition
  • Development Finance and Equity and Social Justice
  • Building a Green Equitable Economy
  • Economics for People, Planet and Nature
  • Inside the United Nations

Course Director will be Professor Ehtisham Abassi (India, Saudi Arabia, Morocco) -Professor of Accountancy and Finance, backed up with tutors from the Green Economics Institute, founded in 2003 which run the worlds leading green academic journal and are global leaders and experts in their field and publish regularly in a variety of books, magazines and speak all over the world on these subjects. Lecturers and tutors may also include -Professor Aaron Sternizsky (Austria and Berlin Sustainability and Finance), Miriam Kennet UK (Green Economist Founder and Editor of the worlds leading green academic journal), Dr Norferyanti Kamarrudin (Malaysia Institute of Forestry), Professor Ioana Negru- (Pluralist Economist -Cambridge and Romania), Bianca Madison-Vuleta (Health Professional Croatia and UK).

Green Economics Institute Education will also support these summer schools. We have been running education of all kinds since 2003 for students from all around the world from all walks of life and at all levels.www.greeneconomicsinstituteeducation.org

The Green Economics Institute is also a publishing house, www.geibooks.org.uk and are very active at the United Nations on climate change, climate science, climate finance, biodiversity, nature, finance for development etc running regular events and exhibition stands at the COPs and other United Nations Events around the world. Students may be eligible to participate in some of these activities subject to briefings and suitability and interests.

2 week Summmer School covering everything to do with Green Finance, Green Economics, Sustainability, United Nations Financial Initiatives, Finance for Development, Governance, Ethics, Green Cultures etc. This is all in a multidisciplinary, international flavour and context from some of the worlds leading developers of these ideas.

The tutors and lecturers are leaders in their fields. They will introduce you to the latest practice, literature and ideas in these fields and international initiatives and developments.

You can depend on 22 years of the Green Economics Institute to inspire you and light your way in the challenging and chaotic world of today.

Come and find out how you can make a real difference, with like minded fascinating, highly informed and compassionate leaders, speakers, thinkers, campaigners and doers.

In a polarised world, we all need hope, positive perspectives and sustainable solutions.

Join us for a week or two weeks of heart warming, human and nature centred exploration of a better, more harmonious, economically equitable future.

To be held at The H B Allen Centre, part of Keeble College, University of Oxford, weeks 1 and 2: 3-17th August 2026 Monday to Friday. To include at least 2 outings field trips locally and in introduction to Oxford and its history and walking tours of Oxford.

There will be lectures, workshops, keynotes, student presentations, and a certificates ceremony at the end for participants. The course is CPD suitable.

1 week 1 one week course If you wish to write, we are a publishers and we have the worlds leading green academic journal, and some magazines and a host of books, and you may also have the opportunity to learn how to publish

N. B. Students can take this course 3-17th August 2026 course and can add on two other courses in weeks 3 and 4 on similar and complimentary themes. Please let us know for how many weeks you would like to participate. Email us to discuss your specific requirements.

There is a 2 day conference being held at Oxford on the Friday, 31st July and Saturday 1st August 2026 which students can attend as part of this particular summer school.
