This session is designed to prepare you for a calm, socially connected summer. Just as nature shifts into lighter, brighter days, we can consciously prepare our body and mind to thrive in the warmer season with more ease and vitality. The nervous system is at the heart of how we experience life. By making simple, intentional adjustments to our diet, lifestyle, and daily practices we can cultivate greater balance and resilience.

Sattva is a somewhat mystical mode of being with fundamentally practical application. The sanskrit word Sattva translates is close to our notions of 'goodness' and 'purity'. It's the radiance of a sunset, the sweetness of a green, yellow, red or blue smoothie, the joy behind the a natural smile, and the nourishment of a salad sandwich on sourdough spelt. It is a mode of living that is free from fear and distress, balanced in thought and feelings, a state of mind where there is a natural inclination toward kindness and connection. It's one of the three 'maha gunas which offer a framework for taking the temperature of our consciousness, for understanding why some days are darker or harder than others.
This morning’s session weaves the timeless wisdom of Sattva with modern science—particularly the ventral vagal state of the nervous system (the “rest-and-connect” zone between fight/flight and deep shutdown). Together, they provide powerful tools for cultivating calm, clarity, and resilience so you can show up as the best version of yourself this summer.

A holistic protocol focused on ventral vagal activation and sattvic living can help us:
~ Navigate the busyness of family, work, and responsibilities with more calm and presence
~ Better understand how our environment, diet, and habits influence our energy, mood, and overall wellbeing
~ Stay connected to our true nature while creating optimal conditions for meaningful activity, rest, and positive impact

Some knowledge of yoga and/or Ayurveda is helpful but not essential. This morning retreat is one of four I’ll be hosting this year. Each session stands alone beautifully, or you can attend all of them to build progressive layers of understanding and support for your ongoing self-care.
