Summer Reading Kickoff with Tripledale Farm

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton will host the donkeys of Tripledale Farm of Guilford along with a petting zoo on Saturday, June 27 between 12:00 and 2:00 PM to kick off our 2026 Summer Reading program. Summer Reading packets for kids birth - grade 5 will be available and will include a free book. Kids keep track of their reading and play our Unearth a Story Jurassic board game and earn raffle tickets towards terrific prizes. Our summer reading program runs through Saturday, August 1. Reading logs will also be available to download on the library’s website billmemorial.org.
Our visit by Tripledale Farm is generously sponsored by the Groton Education Foundation and includes rare American Jackstock Mammoth donkeys descended from the Revolutionary War era. One of the farm’s heritage breed donkeys, Sharpy, was featured on a United States Postage Stamp several years ago
